i kinda went into a rant there in my tags but like for real guys it is super dangerous for us to drive on the roads when it’s icy because even if i happen to own snow chains the other 10 people on the road with me most likely do not. that’s adding to the fact that we just aren’t /used/ to driving on ice/snow, which makes it even more dangerous because people make stupid decisions due to ignorance of the fact that hey, ice is slick and no, you can’t turn really fast on it. even our houses aren’t built to handle long periods of snow/ice: part of our roof caved in yesterday because the ice layer on it got so thick in the past three days that it couldn’t support the weight, and then the ice started to /melt/ and all the water pooled inside and caused it to cave. sometimes it’s ridiculous how panicky people here get over a little snow, but then sometimes it’s completely justified

tagged: true, but it's also because down south most of our cars aren't rear wheel drive, and a grand majority of us don't own snow chains because we so rarely see snow, and when it /does/ get cold enough to snow we rarely get snow, instead we get ice, which is way more dangerous than snow powder, so our bridges freeze over we get 3 inches of ice on the road and it stays cold enough for 3 days that the ice doesn't melt, it's just too dangerous to drive when it's icy in the south it just is, now when it snows and the state shuts down that's a completely different story,
do you ever cry because you’ve somehow managed to gain a truly fucking amazing person as your friend? and just think about how fucking blessed you are for their existence and how in some previous life you must have done something fucking amazing to deserve them in this life? DO YOU?
